About Us
The Great Lakes Drum Corps Alumni (GLDCA) is a alumni corps which is open to anyone with past drum corps experience. However, we welcome anyone who can play a brass instrument, a drum, or march the color guard. | |
The GLDCA kicked off their inaugural season on January 6, 2013 with an open house and rehearsal at Chelsea High School, Chelsea, MI. We launched our second season on October 20, 2013 with our first rehearsal in Brighton, MI.
This Alumni corps is open to all those who want to relive those days of sweat and music, but at a little slower pace than they remember. This is a non-competitive alumni drum and bugle corps. This means we will not compete in field shows but we will march parades and play stand-still concerts. All brass players, drummers, and color guard members who want to feel a little of the old excitement of performance are invited to attend a rehearsal. Drummers bring drumsticks and brass players, bring your current brass instrument. We play G bugles but, if you don't have access to a bugle, we will provide transposed arrangements for B♭ instruments. Full percussion equipment will be available. If you are first time planning to attend a GLDCA rehearsal, it would be helpful to us if you could go to our Contact page and let us know your intentions to attend and what your equipment needs are. Here are the minimal GLDCA guidelines for membership or participation at performance events.
